Helloings! Due to all of the family commitments and retail hell that comes with the season we have had to resort to hitting the vaults for this week's Fast Return Switch.
We dug out a previously unreleased classic that was recorded all the way back in August before being abandoned for more topical episode coverage. I've explained this just so you know that, when we refer to last week we actually mean last August and when we talk about next week we talk about other abandoned plans!
Confused? Me too. I don't think I'm cut out for time travel at all!

An Apology...
Sorry to any Fast Return Switch listeners who were expecting a podcast yesterday. We were really hoping to get a podcast out for you at the usual time but family and seasonal commitments got in the way. We fully intend to stick with our ongoing commitment to not miss a week and have one out for you guys soon. Just not today! Stay tuned folks!

FRS 27: ‘The Christmas Invasion’ David Tennant
Merry Regeneration! Last week it was the Eleventh's first Crimbo and now we tackle the Tenth's! We had a good laugh doing this one but unfortunately there are a few audio glitches towards the end. No wonder David T spent most of the episode in bed. I can't blame him, sleeping through Christmas is a tradition in my family. Enjoy the festivities!

FRS 26: ‘A Christmas Carol’ Matt Smith
Merry December, listeners! We're gonna be all festive for a bit here on FRS. Kicking off the merriment we cover Matt Smith's inaugural Christmas episode. We have Messrs Munro, Weston and Woodford chatting dumb over this one with a 'special' guest appearance from Dan Morrison. This episode is made extra EXTRA special by the absence of Mr Fanton. I kid, I kid. He's good people. Merry Cringles!

FRS 25: ‘Spearhead from Space ’ Part Two. Jon Pertwee
Wurzel puts his Spear-head on once again as we unleash part two of the Pertwee classic. I wasn't sure why I couldn't remember the end of this story that clearly. Turns out I fell asleep! Rum was a bad choice. You need not fear though as Masters Fanton, Munro and Weston do a fine job of keeping things entertaining in my unfortunate and slightly embarrassing absence. When will I learn? Probably never.
Love ya!

Techical problems
I'm afraid we're facing some technical problems today. Our internet service provider is failing to provide a consistent connection and therefore we can't upload the podcast right now. I'll keep trying whenever I can and hopefully you guys won't have to wait too long. Stupid Branson.

FRS 22: ‘The Trial of a Time Lord: The Mysterious Planet ’ Part one. Colin Baker
We finally do a Colin! We did actually record a fan commentary for the more colourful of the Bakers a fair while ago, but unfortunately it didn't make it to the editing software intact so we had to regretfully let it go. Weep! But we made it in the end! Hooray! So don your cat brooch and join us as we watch the court room drama unfold...

FRS Episode 21b: ‘Forest of the Dead’ David Tennant
FRS Episode 21a: ‘Silence in the Library’ David Tennant
Thursday, 27 October 2011
FRS Episode 20: ‘The Doctor's Wife’ Matt Smith
Double Prizes! I had to dip into the archive again this week and I pulled out a doozy! If I'm honest it's a little soon to be covering another Matt Smithisode but it was by far the most suitable for today. It might confuse in places (it did me) as it was recorded a while ago and we mention a few plans that never came to fruition as well as reference episodes which at the time hadn't aired and since have. Stupid time travel. I hope we get the hang of it sooner rather than later.
Enjoy...
Enjoy...

FRS Episode 19b: ‘The Hand of Fear’ Tom Baker
The second part of The Hand of Fear podcast is finally here! Sorry for the week long delay! But I think it was well worth the wait. I hope you agree! I'd just like to thank all the fans for being so patient. You're saints each and every one of you. As far as I know not one one of you complained. Thanks for your understanding. You all rock.
Measures have been put in place to stop this sort of thing happening in the future.
So with out further ado...

Technical Issues
We're having issues. This is in itself nothing new to me. I've got tons of issues. But as a collective we're now having an issue that stops us getting the podcast out today. Sad face. It is being delt with however and the hand of fear part b should be with you in a matter of days. Sorry for the delay...

FRS Episode 19a: ‘The Hand of Fear’ Tom Baker
Monday, 17 October 2011
What the bloody hell?
I know what you're asking yourself. You're asking, 'It's Monday? Where be my damn FRS podcast, bitch?' (I'm guessing at your colloquialisms obviously). Well fear not! FRS has not phased out of the known dimensions. Nor has it hiding one second out of sync with your normal timestream. It is merely shifting to a later day of the week.
That day be THURSDAY.
See nothing to panic about. Can you stop hyperventilating now? It's just a few extra days? It's a Tom Baker story we're doing too. Everyone loves Tom Baker.

FRS Episode 18: ‘The Awakening’ Peter Davison
Recently discovered in the Fast Return Switch vaults this long lost classic can now be revealed to our ravenous public! Many guest appearances abound from John Hurt to Patrick Moore including a brief cameo from the legend Sir Tom Jones!
Also we spend entirely too much time time talking about the village of Martin.
What the bloody hell?

FRS Episode 17: ‘The Wedding of River Song’ Matt Smith
So here it is! What it's all been leading up to! All of us here at Fast Return Switch are giddy with excitement as the series comes to its conclusion. I'm going to keep this short and sweet this week as I know if I type too long I'll end up gloating about how spot on Mr Weston and myself are at guessing endings.
I probably should have stopped a sentence earlier there.

FRS Episode 16: ‘Closing Time’ Matt Smith
Here we are again with another Fast Return Switch podcast! This time we have the triumphant return of Mr Thomas Butler and it's good to have him back. We also celebrate Mr Fanton's Birthday! Sing along now... 'Closing time, no more time for alcohol...'
P.S. If you've not seen the prequel to next week's epic-looking finale, The Wedding of River Song, then follow this link to the official Doctor Who site and check it out! We'll see you on the other side of the end of series 6....

FRS Episode 15: ‘The God Complex’ Matt Smith
Wow, these new episodes are all fantastic, are they not? It's a rhetorical question obviously. Below you'll find a podcast from four renegade Time Lords who currently operate under the aliases of Andy Fanton, Amy Meechan, Andy Weston and Andi Woodford. Their true names will be revealed in time but not before they employ their combined wisdom to de-construct... The God Complex!

FRS Episode 14: ‘The Girl Who Waited’ Matt Smith
We have a lot of hosts this week! We've got the usual three Andys (Fanton, Weston and Woodford), the return of semi-regular (I checked with his GP) Stuart Munro and the official début (though she did appear briefly last week) of Amy Meechan (AKA Tabitha)!
We're covering 'The Girl Who Waited' this time which is a truly BEAUTIFUL episode that deserves better than us fools chatting over it. A fact which my recording equipment must have understood, as it continued to crap out on me all evening.
After numerous attempts we do manage to rise above our technical problems and record the damn thing but we do not suggest you try to watch along as streaming issues make the timing decidedly shonk. Unfortunately there's still a few minor blips in the recording but I think I've managed to hide most of 'em with a certain editorial grace. You'd have to be very eagle eared to spot ANY of my editing anyway. I'm just that good.
Don't believe me? Listen on and SEE HOW WRONG YOU ARE!
Do eagles have good ears? They probably do, right? They are REALLY big after all. No, hang on. That's beagles, isn't it? I probably should've said beagle-eared earlier. Does that sound better? HELP ME I"M STILL TYPING!
Note: Shortly after this was written, Mr Woodford was sectioned by his fellow podcasters. He will, possibly, be free in time for next week's podcast, though we make no promises.

FRS Episode 13: ‘Night Terrors’ Matt Smith
FRS employs use of a THIRD microphone! With each podcast we strive ever further towards professionalism and take a sharp left before we get there. The Andys regress to a childlike state of terror this week. Which makes a change from our normal child-like state of giggling at Sontaran nob jokes. Of which there are still plenty.
Hooray!
Hooray!

FRS Episode 12: ‘Let's Kill Hitler’ Matt Smith
While Garfield and the Boomtown Rats may not like 'em. I Love Mondays right now. It's my second favourite day of the week! It's not as good as Saturdays obviously. Saturdays are the day we get a BRAND NEW episode of Doctor Who! But Mondays are pretty damn cool, yeah. Cause Mondays mean FAST RETURN SWITCH!
It's 'Let's Kill Hitler' we chat over this week and we'll continue to do so after each episode of this series. For its ENTIRE run!
There's a good joke hidden in this one. We had to have one eventually right? It's right near the end though. And the delivery is terrible. But it's still a good joke. Fanton didn't think so. But I do. So there. Can you spot it?

Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes ( I wuz I wuz)
BOWIE!
Change has come to FRSwitch and we think you'll find you like it! Up until today our humble podcast always launched on a Sunday. Nothing wrong with that. We all like to worship the good Doctor of a weekend. Today however is a Monday and Monday shall be our home from now on.
The main catalyst of this slight temporal shift is Matt Smiths oncoming triumphant return to our screens NEXT SATURDAY! Our new weekday launch window allows plenty of time to watch the latest, greatest Doctor Who episodes a couple of times and then comment those bitches right up! WOOT! FRSwitch is gonna be topical for once!
We hope you'll join us in the celebration! Don't forget to tweet us @FRSwitch, yeah? Get in early enough and we might even be able to mention ya on the show!
See ya next week! When Fast Return Switch will be covering "Lets Kill Hitler!"
Oh my Goodness, I can't wait!
Love Woaf,

FRS Episode 11: ‘The Mind Robber’ Patrick Troughton
A Podcast? On a Monday? Are we losing our minds?
Don't worry listners! We haven't had our minds robbed. There is a very good reason for me having to edit three bloody podcasts in two days when I'm quite busy enough thank you very much. And all will be revealed soon. But first entertain yourself with Andys Fanton, Weston and Woodford as we enjoy an excellent Patrick Trousers story!
Here be part 'a'
And here be part 'b'

FRS Episode 10: 'Partners in Crime' David Tennant
'And Then There Were Two'
It's just Mr Weston and myself (Woaf) this time round. Which means no-one has to share a mike! Luxury. At the last possible minute we decide that 'Partners In Crime' was the episode to yabber over. Beers are drunked, doughnuts are eated and a deep Bromance is formed (in my mind anyway).
Enjoy!

A mystery is finally laid to rest...
In one or two of our podcasts of late, there's been some talk of a mythical advert featuring Buster Merryfield (of Uncle Albert fame) advertising the popular snack Hula-Hoops. Now, this has been a long running joke mystery, and something that none of us has ever been able to prove the existence of.
Until now.
Idly surfing the net today, I came across a reference to this Holy Grail, and shortly after the trail led to the advert itself. It IS real, and Mr Fanton can sleep soundly for the first time in 14 years.
And, if you're curious, here it is in all its glory.

FRS Episode 9: 'Paradise Towers' Sylvester McCoy
EXPLICIT CONTENT WARNING (especially in part b)
By popular imaginary demand Fast Return Switch is laying it on thick again this Sunday with another multi part podcast. Being far to awesome to be contained in a solitary hour the Sylvester McCoy classic 'Mel wants to go swimming' is covered this week over two highly informative podular castings.
The correct listening order is 'a' then 'b'. That's 'a' followed by 'b'. Just like the cassette tapes from the 80's. You remember the 80's right? I hope so. It really helps when listening to us...

We're on Twitter!
Just a very brief post to let you all know that Fast Return Switch is now on Twitter! So, if you'd like to follow us and find out what we're up or if you'd just like to send us some comments/abuse, we are @FRSwitch.
The picture of the lovely Alex Kingston is entirely gratuitous, and has little to do with this, save for the fact it looks a little like she could be Tweeting in that picture (she's not though).

FRS Episode 8: 'The King's Demons' Peter Davison
EXPLICIT CONTENT WARNING!
I was very careful to make sure we got our explicit tag on iTunes. It made me comfortable knowing that we could say what ever we wanted without fear of causing undue offence or distress. As I'm a bit slow in the brainbox however, I never thought to throw up a warning on these here blog posts. I've been bunging these things up willy nilly and couple of four letter words have snuck into our previous podcasts that you may of not been prepared for. For this I can only apologise.
Another thing I can only apologise for is the following podcast. We're still finding our feet here at Fast Return Switch. At the time of recording we had yet to work out an appropriate level of alcohol consumption and decided to try our hand at recording post public house. This, I feel, was a mistake.
So I'm sorry. I'm sorry we don't really talk about the episode. I'm sorry Peter Davison doesn't get the love he deserves in his FRS début (we did record a much superior Davison fan commentary before but my bloody computer done eated it). I'm sorry we slur a lot. I'm sorry we often fail to make any sense. I'm sorry we forget how to hold microphones. And most of all I'm sorry, really sorry, to the French.

FRS episode 7b: 'The Three Doctors' part two
FRS episode 7a: 'The Three Doctors' part one
My favourite cast thus far! I get so excited I get my Gel Guards out at one point!
This time the combined minds of Thomas Butler, Andrew Fanton, Andrew Weston and Andrew Woodford are consumed into an anti-matter universe of our own creation as we ramble over the first two episodes of the Hartnell, Trousers and Pertwee story 'The Three Doctors'. Unfortunately Tom loses his physical form after only half an hour's exposure to anti-matter and has to bow out. Which leaves the three Andys to battle on. Can they survive...?
Part 7b following later today!

FRS Episode 4: 'The Lodger' Matt Smith
In an almost poetic expression of our love for time travel we zoom straight to the present day Doctor and show the love for Matt Smith. Messrs Fanton, Weston and Woodford chat over 'The Lodger' the 11th episode of the 5th series. We end up being almost convinced by some net conspiracies here. And Fanton impersonates a troubled monkey.

FRS Episode 3: ‘The Rescue’ William Hartnell
FRS is proud to spew forth its thoughts on this William Hartnell classic.
Thomas Butler, Andy Fanton, Andy Weston and Andi Woodford discuss a number of important issues raised by this particular episode such as cappuccino lies, malicious kittens and a trouser felt appreciation of Vicki's wardrobe... go on, have a listen.
